Sea and Summit trails are GoTrekking Africa’s overnight tours combining a spectacular peak hike in the Garden Route Mountains, a relaxing evening spent soaking up the local hospitality in delightful accommodation and a second day exploring rock pools, beaches and coastal dunes.

We have combined our favourite day hikes in different areas along the Garden Route. The trails are guided by GoTrekking Africa , meals, accommodation & transport during the two day trail is provided. You’ll need to carry only your camera, a small day pack of personal gear and your prepared lunch during the trail.

THE SUMMIT

Sleeping Beauty 1341m is the peak North of the picturesque town of Riversdale. The great yellow wood trees & spectacular gorge line the path to the summit, fresh mountain streams & spectacular views over the coastal plains are some of the rewards along this trail.

Barrydale, an arty town surrounded by mountains and nestled in fertile farm lands supporting a rich fruit, wine and brandy region

THE SEA

Whale watching paradise in De Hoop nature reserve. Porcelain coloured dunes above swirling turquoise ocean and tidal pools teeming with life. A relaxed day hike along this coast to discover sea creatures and Cape Fynbos.

THE SUMMIT

George Peak and Cradock’s Berg, the iconic Outeniqua mountains that provide the spectacular background to the town of George. 360 degree views of the Klein Karoo, Coastal plains reaching to the coast of George, Mossel Bay and Knysna and dramatic Outeniqua Mountains

Wilderness, a festive little seaside town with vibey restaurants, gorgeous scenery and meandering rivers.

THE SEA

The tidal pools at Swartvlei beach are some of the most exciting to explore, at low tide the clear pools trap starfish, octopus, young fish & a host of other sea creatures. The beach offers excellent swimming, while the carved sand dunes offer fantastic photographic opportunities.
